Rooted in South Africa's townships, the MIAGI Orchestra has, since 2003, united young musicians from diverse backgrounds nationwide.

Celebrated globally this dynamic ensemble has toured extensively across Europe. The MIAGI Orchestra beautifully blends African traditional, jazz, Western classical, contemporary, and urban music styles, showcasing the rich, interconnected dialogue between these genres.

62 Musicians promise an
unforgettable Musical Journey

Experience a fresh twist on orchestral music this year as this unique ensemble blends classical orchestration with a full jazz band and a dynamic percussion group. The quest to Search the African Footprint has led the MIAGI Orchestra to an exhilarating program that bridges the African diaspora and transcends ethnic boundaries. Arrangements by David Panzl and Markus Geiselhart will captivate the audience, featuring compositions from renowned artists: George Gershwin (USA), Anders Paulsson (Sweden), Tshepo Tsotetsi (South Africa), Musawenkosi Mdluli (South Africa), Silvestre Revueltas (Mexico), Joe Zawinul (Austria),
Viwe Mkizwana (South Africa) and Miles Davis (USA).

The MIAGI Orchestra needs YOUR Support!

The MIAGI Orchestra Tour 2024 is only made possible thanks to the MIAGI Orchestra partners (see below).

During these times in which the world finds itself in social and political turmoil it proved to be very difficult to raise all the funds needed. We still have a way to go. We would like to ask you for your support and are deeply grateful for any donation of any size. MIAGI is a formally registered South African NGO.
